Phil Mickelson

Mickelson was in danger of missing the cut after a triple bogey on No. 11 but recovered and finished with three birdies in his final seven holes. He enters the weekend at 1-under for the tournament, 11 shots behind leader Aaron Wise. Mickelson shot a 32 on the front nine, six shots better than Thursday. At No. 11, he hit his tee shot into the water, opted to drop onto the cart path and his third shot plugged into the bank in front of the green. He made an 8-foot putt for a triple-bogey.

Chase Koepka

With his weekend hopes hanging in the balance, West Palm Beach's Koepka played the Bear Trap in 3-under, ensuring he would make the cut at 2-under. Heading to the 15th hole, coming off a bogey at No. 14, Koepka appeared to be in danger of missing the cut. Sitting at 2-over for the day, and 1-over for the tournament, Koepka then reeled off three consecutive birdies before parring No. 18. Koepka, the younger brother of four-time major champion Brooks Koepka, had just seven pars Friday to go with six birdies and five bogeys.

Denny McCarthy

32-33-65

In a field that includes Jupiter's Rickie Fowler and Keegan Bradley, it's actually another Jupiter resident who's in the top 10. McCarthy, who had a hole-in-one at The Players Championship last weekend, reeled off a stretch of three birdies starting at No. 18. McCarthy started on hole No. 10 and had already birdied No. 15. He bogeyed No. 6 before ending the day with birdies on two of the last three holes to post a two-day total of 7-under 133.
